We have all heard about the blackouts protesting PIPA and SOPA. Two bills going through congress that would greatly affect the internet and what we view in the future.
I'm not going to rant and rave and I'm not going to make a long list of reasons why I either support or not support the bills. all I'm going to say is that I do NOT support either PIPA or SOPA and as a photographer they would greatly affect me and my work and how I present myself.
A lot of what I do depends on networking and the use of the internet and they would both greatly compromise the way I present myself to the world through sites like youtube, google, flickr, facebook, and blogger.
How can something protect my rights when they compromise my ability to conduct ethical business and my right to support my career?
I don't work for a company, I don't work under a larger umbrella. Everything I do is for myself and my business. Business is hard enough to do on your own, it's even harder when the government that supports the "free market" is helping the big fish eat the smaller ones.
